Recitals & Dance Camp
Recital
June 22, 2012

For two decades 1na Dance has provided students with an exciting performing experience through its annual Dance Recital. It is a rite of passage for many students to shine in front of family and friends. They anticipate this event with a mixture of nervousness and excitement.

My recital offers our students a professionally directed performance on a theatrical stage, the results of their hard work throughout the year. Their dedication and commitment will be a testament of their progress.

A lot of times parents ask why recital time is so important. A big part of dance training includes learning through performance. My recitals will help build self-esteem, self-assurance and will contribute to a sense of confidence.  This on-stage experience will not only help in other non-dance activities, it will also result in better in-school presentations, improved social skills and strong interview skills for the college bound.  In addition, it will help students with retention skills.  It teaches them to work together as a group, and it shows them that a little bit of commitment has a long-lasting positive result.

Although recital time is very hectic for me, I love everything about it and look forward to another great show.

Dance Camp

August 2012
Dance Camp is designed for boys and girls ages 6 and older (5-year olds accepted upon Ms. Sheri’s approval) of every level of dance. This is a great way to learn basic dance skills or improve upon your existing ones. Campers are grouped with others according to their age and ability. Each group will learn to choreograph their own routines, put together costumes and perform at an evening show for family and friends.

The students need to bring a towel, big sack lunch and plenty of water or juice every day. Sheri Liebe will lead the camp along with her assistant Camp Counselors.

The cost is $75 for the first child, $55 for second child, and $45 for third. Children MUST be in the same immediate family. An additional $5 will be collected by the camp staff for the camp T-shirt that the campers will paint. Also make sure to bring extra cash for snacks and raffle tickets.
